Advanced Sommelier Session
- A comprehensive wine tasting experience
Dates: October 28-31, 2024
Instructor: Sylvain Albert

[Event Detail]
The instructor is Sylvain Albert, a true wine globetrotter and a pioneer of global wine for over 25 years. He has spent many years traveling the world to visit the best vineyards, and in 2000, he opened "Le Taste Monde" in Paris, a restaurant focusing on wines from outside France. Thanks to Albert's exceptional passion, this restaurant has become a tasting space unlike any other.
Albert also teaches at hotel schools (Vatelle, Le Cordon Bleu), where he shares his vision for his work. He is also an excellent wine connoisseur and generously shares his knowledge.
He is also currently the principal of the Centre Franck Thomas Formation, a wine academy in Paris. Franck Thomas (MOF (Meilleur Ouvrier de France), Best Sommelier in France, Best Sommelier in Europe) highly regards Albert, calling him "a true encounter that the world of wine offers," and praises his wine knowledge and his willingness to share it generously.
[About Session]
Each session consists of four themes, each lasting half a day:
Intuitive tasting: The initial approach to wine, exploring connections with memories, emotions, shapes, colors, and so on. Introspective.
Geographical Perception Tasting: Defining whether a wine is unique to its location, understanding its meaning, the techniques and attitudes required to engage with the wine being tasted, and identifying the type of soil it comes from.
Wine Touch: By tasting wines using fabric-covered panels (provided in the kit) and associating the fabric with the sensations experienced during tasting, the wine's touch, body, texture, firmness, and suppleness become more clearly defined. An ideal tool for pairing food and wine.
A round-the-world journey in search of the perfect terroir (e.g., Burgundy, Italy? USA? Spain?), providing more meticulous support for how foreign clients enjoy wine in their everyday lives. The connection of AMV (Food and Wine Pairing).
